Parking & Disabled Access
Parking
Parking for cars and coaches is provided free of charge. Special parking spaces are provided for the disabled and for people bringing their dogs (please note: dogs are not allowed into the Gardens, Nursery or Tea Rooms). During peak season, it is advisable for you to telephone us in advance if you intend to bring your dog with you and we will do our best to reserve a parking space.
Disabled Access
Disabled visitors are always very welcome at the Gardens, and with most areas being on the flat, they are easily accessible by wheelchair users. There are just a few areas that cannot be accessed by wheelchairs and there is plenty of seating for disabled visitors’ assistants, visitors with limited mobility, or for accompanying friends who just want to sit back and take it all in! Barnsdale has been recognized with an award by the Rutland Access Group for its disabled facilities, which include: disabled parking, disabled toilets and ramp-access to parts of the Gardens where necessary. We also have wheelchairs and a mobility scooter, which visitors are free to use. However, they are very popular and it is therefore advisable to pre-book before arrival.
Cycles
Cyclists are welcome at any time of year and we have an easily accessible cycle rack, which is easily visible on arrival.
