Cornus sanguinea 'Midwinter Fire'

Deciduous. Late spring-early summer flowering. An upright plant rerally grown for its incredible winter stem colour. As the cold intensifies the fire heats up and the stems take on wonderful shades of yellow, orange and red - hence its name. It is the younger growth that gives the best colours, so stool prune regularly. The white flowers are followed by blue-black fruits. Will grow in sun or semi-shade in most garden soils. 3 x 2.5m (10 x 8ft) if unpruned
