Cornus canadensis

June to July flowering. Unlike most Cornus this plant forms a wide mat of slow growing oval leaves along the ground. Its large white bracts surround greenish flowers in late spring and early summer, followed by edible red berries which are a food source for many wild birds. Prefers moist, neutral toacidic soil in partial shade. 15cm (6 ins) x indefinite spread.
