The Lands' End Colour Garden is finished!

It is funny how sometimes the progress of a garden development is quite visible from day one with the final few elements, completed over the last 3-4 days of the project, seeming not to change the view of the garden that much. This has definitely not been the case with this garden. It has most definitely been one of those whereby the groundwork takes up most of the project time, with the garden only visibly coming together over the last couple of days.

Since my last update the beach hut has been completed.

The decked area has also been completed with both also painted (thankfully the rain forecast for most of the week never materialised!)

Then on Friday 23rd July the planting began, with Adam selecting and placing the plants whilst Richard and his team from New Ground Landscapes did the actual planting.

The teamwork involved ensured the garden was planted in time as the official opening was the following day when Barbara, the competition winner, and Tim Curtis the Managing Director of Lands' End UK cut the ribbon to officially open the garden for viewing by our visitors.

It has been a great project to work on with all parties pulling together exceptionally well to create this Seaside Retreat in landlocked Rutland for all our visitors to enjoy and take inspiration from. The sun shone on our garden opening to show the garden off to its absolute best, with Tim and his Lands' End team and the visitors seeing it for the first time all agreeing that it is not only beautiful and brilliantly designed but also totally different from the other gardens here at Barnsdale.
