Spring Flower Fortnight
Tuesday sees the start of our 2 week showcase of spring flowers in the gardens here at Barnsdale. It is so difficult to try and time this to perfection and it really highlights how the unpredictable British weather can cause us such a headache. Last year I was very worried that the perfect flowers of our Hellebores would be going over before the end of the fortnight and this year it is the complete opposite! I have had countless sleepless nights worrying that there wouldn't be enough flowers out in the gardens and just as you think this is going to be the case they put on a burst of growth just to prove you wrong. And as for the Hellebores they are just starting to flower and will be exploding into all their glory every day. All we hope for are a few dry and sunny days to enjoy the inspirational spring colour!
