Versailles
This was the first part of the garden to
be developed and was given this name by Geoff as the formality
and design reminded him of the layout of the gardens at the Palais
de Versailles in Paris.
The hedges were planted to 'stop the eye' so as not to detract
from the beauty by being able to see the rest of the garden.
In 1996 the borders were thinned out as
many of the plants were too close and suffering from the television
planting syndrome of having to put plants too close to give
an instant effect. |
