Tranquil Garden
Designed by Sue Hamilton to be an oasis of peace and tranquillity in our busy and hectic lives.
All the bright colours and strong scents are positioned to the rear and sides of the love seat, so that, when seated, all that can be viewed are the lightly planted grasses, Hemerocallis, Hosta’s and the water feature, thus giving the desired easy and relaxed feeling.
This garden has been built on the site that started life as ‘The £2 Garden’ which was built to provide beauty and food for a family of four whilst spending an average of two pounds a week on it, it worked!
The Garden was subsequently used by Nigel Colburn as a very herbaceous perennial orientated garden. Lynda Brown was the next presenter to put it to good use with her Cook’s Garden, after which Geoff continued to chop and change it for various small projects. Finally Claire Bradley presented some small inserts for a daytime gardening programme late in 1996. |
