General
Spread Rooster pelleted chicken manure on all borders.

Finished placing the stones and cobbles into the dry stream and pond of the Japanese Garden.

Replaced the rotten herb table in the Artisan's Cottage Garden and replanted with fresh herbs.

Cleared the tunnel and put TOMATOES into their cropping positions.

Earthed up main crop POTATOES.

Planted out gutter grown PEA 'Dorian'.

Thinned out TURNIPS.

Planted CABBAGE 'Colorsa'.

Directly sown CLIMBING FRENCH BEAN 'Blue Lake'.

Cut the COMFREY and put it into the compost bin.

Planted all spare ONIONS in one row to use as  pulling ONIONS.

Hoed between all rows.

Tied in SWEET PEAS and removed side shoots.

General
Pruned remainder of spring flowering shrubs when the flowers had faded, such as EXOCHORDA, BERBERIS (evergreen), CYTISUS and RIBES.

Continuing to paint fencing where required.

Weeding and tidying through borders band mulching some where required.

Planting out tender perennial plants and perennial to fill gaps.

Allotment
Planted out TOMATO 'Ailsa Craig', 'Histon Cropper', 'Tornado', 'Redcap' and 'Gardener's Delight'; FRENCH BEAN 'Blue Coco'; BRUSSELS SPROUT 'Red Delicious'; CELERIAC 'Monarch' and 'Brilliant'; PARSLEY 'Moss Curled' and RUNNER BEAN 'Galaxy' and 'Painted Lady'.

Planted out MARIGOLDS as companion plants.

Moved TOMATO 'Nimbus' and 'Ailsa Craig' into the small polythene tunnel.

Took out the tops of the BROAD BEANS that have produced five sets of flowers.

Directly sown LETTUCE 'Little Gem'; FENNEL 'Zefa Fino'.

Remove about 60cm (24") of manure from the hotbox ready for another batch of fresh manure.

Harvested RADISH 'French Breakfast' and replaced with RADISH 'Pink Beauty'.

Week 4

General
Ponds regularly topped up and blanket weed removed.

All the brown leaves have now been removed from the DAFFODILS.

All early flowering CLEMATIS that required it were cut back either to tidy them up or keep them under control.

Allotment
Tied in SWEET PEAS and removed side shoots.

Fed and tied in TOMATOES.

Planted PUMPKIN 'Atlantic Giant' and COURGETTE 'Tristar'.

Harvested autumn sown ONIONS and prepared the ground and planted SWEETCORN.

Harvested SPRING CABBAGE.

Turned compost from one bin into another and have now started a new bin.

Greenhouse
Sown CAULIFLOWER 'Aalsmeer', 'Valentine' and 'Galleon' into seed trays.

Tied in and fed CUCUMBERS.
