Allotment Greenhouse Sown CELERY 'Giant Pascal' and 'Golden Spartan' and BROAD BEAN 'Aquadulce Claudia' into modules. Sown PEA 'Little Marvel' into gutter. Potted on all varieties of RUDBECKIA into 7cm (3") pots. General Checked compost heaps, emptied ones that were ready and turned all others. Spreading wood chip mulch over beds and borders to suppress weeds and conserve moisture. Watering in greenhouses and conservatory. Weeding, forking over, cutting back and dividing herbaceous perennials. Engraving plant labels. Allotment Parterre Directly sown SPINACH 'Lazio'. Made cloche to fit the square beds. Elizabethan Vegetable Gardens Tidied STRAWBERRY bed. Directly sown RADISH 'Cherry Belle'; ONION 'White Lisbon'; CARROT 'Chantenay'; SPINACH 'Perpetual' and 'PARSNIP 'Tender and True'. Planted out CABBAGE 'Golden Acre Primo'. Tidied herb wheel. Greenhouse Pricked out all AUBERGINES and PEPPERS that were ready into modules. General Identifying any bulbs not labelled as they flower. Sowing various annuals and perennials for use around the gardens. Allotment Elizabethan Vegetable Garden Greenhouse Sown LETTUCE 'Unrivalled' and 'Sangria' into trays.
