Spraying insecticidal soap in greenhouses as aphids and whitefly have been spotted.

Washed the polythene on all the cloches.

Weeding, forking over, cutting back and dividing herbaceous perennials.

Engraving plant labels.

Planted out one row of each of POTATO 'Rocket', 'Swift' and 'Foremost' under polythene.

Planted ONION 'Ailsa Craig' and LETTUCE 'Fristina'.

Directly sown SPINACH 'Lazio'.

Made cloche to fit the square beds.

General
Any plants that have self seeded in the wrong place have been carefully dug up and replanted in a more suitable position.

Identifying any bulbs not labelled as they flower.

Sowing various annuals and perennials for use around the gardens.

Planted CABBAGE 'Golden Acre Primo' and CAULIFLOWER 'Mayflower' and 'Candid Charm' under netted cloches.

Planted CAULIFLOWER 'Mayflower' and 'Candid Charm'; CABBAGE 'Golden Acre Primo' (both under netting); LETTUCE 'Lollo Rosso and ENDIVE 'Moss Curled' (both under Victorian cloches).
