1 Shredding garden waste. Hedge laying part of our quickthorn boundary hedge. Allotment Made staging for polytunnel. Turned compost heaps. Greenhouse Sown ONION 'Lancastrian' and 'Mammoth Improved' into modules. Week
2 The glass has been removed from the greenhouse in one of the courtyard gardens in readiness for rubbing down and painting. Food and water has been put out for the birds in various places around the gardens. Allotment
Put up SWEET PEA support post and wires. Removed BRUSSELS SPROUT plants now they have all been harvested and shredded them before putting them onto the compost heap. ParterreCultivated empty beds.

Sown SWEET PEAS 'Evensong', 'Edward', 'Jimmy Young', 'Oxford Blue', 'Southbourne', 'Mollie Rilestone', 'Lilac Ripple', 'Dreamy Sunset' and 'Fragrant Skies' into tubes made from newspaper. Sown CAULIFLOWER 'Mayflower' and CABBAGE 'Golden
Acre' into a seed tray. Sown PEA 'Douce Provence' into 8cm (3.5") pots with 2 seeds per pot. General Pruned WISTERIA. Cut lengths of HAZEL from our wood to be used as RUNNER BEAN and PEA supports. Allotment Greenhouse Planted POTATO 'Rocket' into a large pot. Potted up seedlings, sown in modules, of LETTUCE 'Fristina' and 'All Year Round' into 8cm (3.5") pots. Sown BROAD BEAN 'Crimson Flowered' (from our own saved seed stock) and 'Express' into deep modules. Pinched tops from SWEET PEAS. Sown RUDBECIA 'Indiansommer' into trays. General Topping up ponds and water features when required. Allotment Mulched RASPBERRY bed with composted wood chip. Erected support posts for Autumn fruiting RASPBERRY bed. Greenhouse Potted TOMATO 'Ailsa Craig' into 8cm (3.5") pots. Checking DAHLIAS for
