Planning your visit

We recommend an average visit time of 3 hours to take in the gardens, coffee shop, nursery and gift shop – although most groups stay much longer.
It is also possible to arrange an exclusive evening visit for your group after the gardens have closed.

Conducted Tours

We are able to offer pre-arranged and very personal guided tours led by either Nick or Sue Hamilton, the owners, which will give exclusive insights into the gardens. These tours usually last about 11/2 to 2 hours, and the cost for up to to 25 people is £112.50 on top of the normal admission charge. For groups of over 25, £4.50 is charged for each additional person.

Parking

We have ample parking for coaches, and a member of staff will assist the group on arrival. Coach drivers are admitted to the gardens free of charge and are able to obtain a free tea or coffee.

Dogs

With the exception of guide dogs, we do not allow dogs into the gardens.

Admission Costs

Groups of more than 10 adults £4.50 per person
Children (under 16)                      £1.50 per child
Evening Tour (minimum 20 persons) £6.50 per adult

Included in the cost of admission is the garden guide map to help you find your way around the garden.
Although we allow individual RHS and HDRA members free access to the gardens, this concession does not apply when they are part of a visiting group. However Barnsdale Gardens Visitors Card holders do get in free with every visit.

Booking Procedure & Payment

We ask for a £30.00 deposit per group, which can only be refunded if we receive notice of cancellation at least 14 days prior to the visit.

All bookings will be confirmed by email with the deposit to follow to secure your booking. The balance will be due on arrival, and payments are accepted in cash, by cheque or by credit card.
