Gentleman's Cottage Garden

A small garden designed and built for the BBC television series ‘Geoff Hamilton’s Cottage Gardens’.

The design shows one way to deal with a garden that is wider than it is long. It is in complete contrast to its sister garden in that it is much more expensive to create and is more formal in its design.

Geoff was aware that there are people who have more money to spend on their garden than most but it is quite easy to scale down, in value, being just as effective and much easier to visualise than trying to do the reverse.

This garden was recreated at the 1995 Gardeners’ World Live Exhibition for the Daily Express.
