Week 1

General
Pruning ROSES.

Repairing and relaying any uneven or loose slabs.

Allotment
Removed first lot of POTATOES that had rotted in hotbox and replaced with second batch of 'Swift'.

Made staging to go into polytunnel.

Pulled up old BRUSSELS SPROUT stems and shredded them into the compost bin.

Greenhouse
Sown TOMATO 'Gardener's Delight' and 'Cossack'; CABBAGE 'Stonehead'; CAULIFLOWER 'Idol'; STOCK 'Heaven Scent'; FRENCH MARIGOLD 'Dainty Marietta'; RUDBECKIA 'Cherokee Sunset', 'Toto' and 'Rustic'; AFRICAN MARIGOLD 'Sunspot Mixed' and BASIL 'Neapolitan'into trays.

Potted up TOMATO 'Sungold', 'Alicante' and 'Green Zebra' into 8cm (3.5") pots.

Pricked out CABBAGE 'Hispi' into modules.

Sown LETTUCE 'Mini Veg Blush' and 'Unrivalled'into modules.

Moved BROAD BEANS and SWEET PEAS into tunnel to harden off.

Week 2

General
Tidied out sheds during bad weather.

Pruning ROSES, GARRYA, SAMBUCUS; SANTOLINA, SPIRAEA japonica, MAHONIA, late flowering CLEMATIS and HYDRANGEAS.

Allotment
Planted out BROAD BEAN 'The Sutton' and 'Imperial Green Pod' and covered with a netted cloche.

Emptied centre compost bin.

Parterre
Planted out gutter grown PEA 'Douce Provence' and covered with cloche.

Greenhouse
Potted AUBERGINE 'Moneymaker' and 'Mohican'; ARTICHOKE 'Green Globe'; TOMATO 'Big Boy', 'Golden Sunrise' and 'Shirley'; LETTUCE 'Fristina' and CAPSICUM 'Numex Twilight' into 8cm (3.5") pots.

Sown CAULIFLOWER 'Snowball'; CABBAGE 'Puma', 'Guardian'; BRUSSELS SPROUT 'Montgomery' and 'Breeze'; PHYSALIS edulis (Cape Gooseberry) and CAPSICUM 'Mohawk', 'Gypsy' and 'Redskin' into trays.

Multi sown LETTUCE 'Lollo Rossa' into modules.

Week 3

General
Lightly trimmed all deciduous hedges to tidy them up.

Any shrubs identified as being in the wrong place have been moved.

Pruned autumn fruiting RASPBERRIES 'Autumn Bliss' and 'Autumn Gold'.

Re-placing any loose slabs/bricks around the various gardens and features.

Sown CUCUMBER 'Pefinex 69'; CELERIAC 'Brilliant'; BASIL 'Lemon'; CABBAGE 'Greyhound', 'Golden Acre', 'Sparkle' and 'Hispi'; LEEK 'Vrizo', 'Pancho', 'Autumn Mammoth2' and 'Snowstar'; PEPPER 'Hercules', 'Apache', 'Calimero', 'Jumbo', 'Hot Stuff', 'Jalapeno' and 'Inferno' and LEMON GRASS into trays.

Sown PARSNIP 'Lancer'; BEETROOT 'Detroit 2' and 'Little Ball'; LETTUCE 'Sangria', Mini Green', 'Fristina', 'Cerize' and 'Rusty' and CARROT 'Ideal into modules.

Sown RUDBECKIA 'Indian Summer, 'Cherokee Sunset' and 'Rustic Dwarfs' and TAGETES 'Sunset Giant', Dwarf Single' and 'Naughty Marietta'' into trays to be used as companion planting.

Multi sown ONION 'Lancastrian' into modules.
Sown BROAD BEAN 'Crimson Flowered' into deep trays.

Week 4

General
Put out all garden furniture that had been bought inside for winter maintenance.

Mulching borders with wood chip and shreddings to suppress weed growth.

Allotment
Covered POTATOES in hotbox with straw and mild hotbed with fleece to protect against a forecast frost.

Greenhouse
Sown PEAS 'Little Marvel' into guttering.

Pricked out into modules STOCK 'Hot Cakes Mixed' and removed all dark leaved seedlings to ensure all double flowers also TAGETES 'Fantasia'.

Sown TAGETES 'Naughty Marietts', 'Mischief Mixed', 'La Bamba' and 'Golden Gem' into seed trays.

Planted POTATO 'Foremost' into a medium sized pot.

Pricked out CAULIFLOWERS and CABBAGE 'Stonehead' into modules.

Sown into seed trays RED BASIL; CAPSICUM 'Jalapeno', 'Worldbeater' and PARSLEY 'Plain Leaved 2', 'Favorit' and 'Moss Curled' (watered in with boiling water).

Potted on some SWEET PEAS into 1 litre pots.
