Japanese Garden

This is Barnsdale’s interpretation of a Japanese garden and is split into two distinct halves by a winding slate path to illustrate two very different styles of garden found in Japan. On one side is the interpretation of a meditation-style garden, which is sparse with a dry stream and pond. The raked aggregate mimics water in this space, whilst the three standing stones denoting peace and tranquility. The other half of this garden is packed with plants, as many Japanese gardens are, a running stream and a pond full of fish. It is completed with a bamboo tea house. Each item is meticulously placed as it has real significance within the holistic look and feel of the entire space. The bamboo fence has a "window" cut out so that it gives a glimpse of what is beyond this space and the bamboo theme continues into the retaining wall at the very front of the garden which is made from large section that have been cut to create a different, but very applicable wall.
