Parking

Parking for cars and coaches is provided free of charge. Special parking spaces are provided for the disabled, which can be booked in advance, and for people bringing their dogs (please note: dogs are not allowed into the gardens, nursery or tea rooms). We provide two shaded parking spaces and a bowl of fresh water for visitors' dogs. During peak season, it is advisable for you to telephone us in advance if you intend to bring your dog with you and we will do our best to reserve a parking space.

Accessibility

Disabled visitors are always very welcome at Barnsdale Gardens, and with most areas being on the flat, they are easily accessible by wheelchair users. There are just a few areas that cannot be accessed by wheelchair and there is plenty of seating for disabled visitors’ assistants, visitors with limited mobility, or for accompanying friends who just want to sit back and take it all in.

Barnsdale has been recognised with an award by the Rutland Access Group for its accessible facilities, which include: accessible parking, accessible toilets and ramp-access to parts of the gardens where necessary.

We also have wheelchairs and a mobility scooter, which visitors are free to use. However, they are very popular and it is therefore advisable to pre-book before arrival.

Cycles

Cyclists are welcome at any time of year and we have an easily accessible cycle rack, which is clearly visible on arrival.

Motorhomes / RVs

We welcome visitors with motorhomes. However, if your vehicle is longer than 6m (20ft), we would ask you to email or telephone us prior to your visit, so that we can reserve an appropriate parking space for you.
