Courses - Introduction To Organic Vegetable growing
This course is taken by Dave Dawkins our Vegetable and Fruit Supervisor. Each course will consist of the following:
9.30 am Welcome
10.00 am Planning the organic vegetable garden
Visit to the productive gardens
11.00 am Break for tea or coffee
11.15 am Soil management
Crop rotation
Visit to the productive gardens
12.30 pm Break for lunch
2.00 pm Seed and plant raising
Choosing the crops to grow
Glasshouse visit
3.30 pm Beak for tea or coffee
3.45 pm Tools required

The course is aimed at the novice gardener, with the intention of giving each participant a basic knowledge of the techniques required to become a successful organic vegetable gardener. As you will see there are parts of the course that are held outside, so please bring along suitable clothing in case of bad weather.

This course will be run on several dates, with the cost for each being £25.00 (£23.00 for Visitors Card holders and RHS members - proof of membership will be required on the day), which includes lunch and tea or coffee.

As places on each course are limited it is advisible to book early so as not to be disappointed.
