Summer flowering. The unusual lavender-blue, dark-eyed daisy-like flowers are enclosed in a papery calyx and are produced over a clump of grass- like leaves. Will grow in sun or light shade in most garden soils. 60 x 30cm (24" x 12")

Autumn flowering. A lovely plant with the airy red-brown flower heads held over a clump of leaves that emerge green, have red tones by July and turn wholly wine-coloured by September. Good autumn colour. Sunny position. 120cm (4')

Summer flowering. A fabulous variety with the deep purple red flowers having a brown central cone. Best in a sunny and moisture retentive position. 90cm (36")

Summer flowering. A lovely plant having spikes of hollyhock-like, carmine-red flowers produced in abundance on spikes during July and August. Best in a sunny position in most garden soils. 60-75cm (24"-30")

February-April flowering. The lovely green leaves are heavily spotted white and are topped by masses of pink and violet, funnel-shaped flowers. Will grow in sun or shade in most garden soils. 30 x 60cm (12" x 24")

Autumn flowering. A wonderful Aster, carrying masses of violet-purple daisy-like flowers produced in panicles. Best in a sunny and moisture retentive but well drained position. 60 x 45cm (24" x 18")
