The French Tarragon rarely flowers in this country but it produces an abundance of aromatic, grey-green leaves with an anise flavour. Best in a sunny and well drained position. 90cm (36")
Quantity:
Evergreen. Summer-early autumn flowering. Grown primarily for its finely cut, aromatic, silvery-white leaves that are produced on stiff stems. When it flowers they are yellow. Needs to be cut back hard each spring. Best in a sunny and well drained position. 120cm x 90cm (4' x 3')
Late summer flowering. Unusual plant with the bronze-green, deeply cut leaves forming a basal rosette from which the stiff stems arise carrying the plumes of creamy white flowers. Best in a sunny position. 150 x 60cm (5' x 2')
Late summer flowering. The greyish-yellow flowers are of no real significance as this plant is grown for its soft, misty grey-green aromatic foliage. Best in a sunny position in most soils. 75-90cm (30"-36")
Summer flowering. This plant is not generally grown for the tiny yellow blooms that it produces but for the lovely feathery silver foliage. A spreader. Sunny position. 60 x 45cm+ (2' x 18"+)
Evergreen. Non-flowering form. This is the non-flowering form and produces an excellent mound of beautiful filigree, aromatic grey foliage. Requires a sunny and well drained position. 90 x 120cm (3' x 4')
A superb foliage plant with the iridescent lime-green and yellow foliage lighting up any border. Will grow in sun or light shade in a well drained soil. 50-85cm x 60cm (20"-34" x 24")
