Summer flowering. This is mainly used as a herb for the flavour of the hollow, spiky dark green leaves, but in summer they are topped by rounded heads of pale purple or pink flowers. Best in a sunny position. 12-25 x 30cm (5"-10" x 12")

Summer flowering. An uncommon variety with the rounded purple flower heads being produced over a long period on stiff stems over a good clump of narrow green leaves. Requires sunny position. 60-90cm (2'-3')
June-July flowering. A good culinary herb with the hollow green leaves having a distinct garlic flavour as well as the onion you would expect from chives. Best in a sunny and well drained position.12-25 x 5-10cm (5"-10" x 2"-4")
