Forge Cottage in Edith Weston is a lovely 19th
Century stone house nestling in a picture-perfect and peaceful
corner of this ancient Rutland village on the south shore of
Rutland Water. Its large garden, which has opened for the National
Gardens Scheme, features a wealth of interesting plants, shaded
paths, paved seating and barbeque areas and a sunny, south-facing
lawn.
The house sleeps up
to 8 in one double and three twin rooms. Upstairs is a bathroom
with shower over the bath, downstairs an additional loo and
shower-room. The main feature of the sitting room is its wonderful "four-sided" open
fire - as well as the invitingly cosy big Chesterfield sofas!
The family who own this house love to use it
themselves and keep it fully fitted with all equipment and appliances,
as well as constantly adding to and updating the impressive furnishings.
The house is centrally heated and prices include
all heating, logs, linens and bath towels. We welcome well-behaved
dogs, and we are a no-smoking house.
